What If It's a Girl by Elle Ideson
Ava is getting ready for her baby’s gender reveal party and there is so much to think about. Where has this rash come from? Does the balloon arch look terrible? Will her sister get distracted by the news she has an STI and ruin the mini quiches? But with all these stresses why is her major worry…what if it’s a girl?
Hear Lies by Aidan Thompson-Coates
Funerals are a tricky affair. Who are they really for? Are they a day of sombre reflection or a time for uplifting reminiscence? During the wake of Matthew’s funeral, his surviving mother and bestie finally meet each other for the first time, in the loos of Scarborough Working Men’s Club. Sharing opposing experiences and memories of the man they’ve both lost, anyone would think they’re remembering two completely different lives. The truth is: maybe they are...
Fruit by David Lau
Trying to fit into a family has its complications. Something Joe realises after being triggered by a news report concerning a fruit which ignites a cascade of complex thoughts. (PG 13)
Do Not Disturb by Emma Wilkinson
Jo has a secret. Mum has a mission. The roof is leaking and so are the cracks in their relationship. Will Jo find a way to speak her truth?
Lost Socks by Charly Pawson
Lost Socks is for the people who feel like brightly coloured polka dot socks in a world full of neat and tidy school tights, and the mismatched family that you become a part of from this. What do you do when you live in a world so focussed on conformity, but you were made to be constantly changing, growing, and unapologetically odd?
All plays will be performed script-in-hand, by professional actors, after a short rehearsal period.
