How I… Use Research

Great plays often begin with curiosity - whether it’s a stack of books, films or research trips. This talk explores how Gillian Slovo turns that spark of research into something theatrical, rather than just informative.

We'll hear how Gillian's work is informed by real stories, history and academia, without losing focus on plot, character and form. You'll learn how to make sure your research is a launchpad for purposeful writing, rather than a burden that weighs you down.

This talk will take place in the pop-up space on Pier Street.
