Meet the Writers

Join us in the marquee at Stage@The Dock to meet our eight commissioned writers Ellen Brammar, Jim Norris, Jay Grainger, Samuel Sims, Noor Sobka, Michelle Kelly, Sean Climie and Laura Wilson.

Our writers were selected from 117 entrants, who responded to an open call for writers with ‘a meaningful connection to Hull’.

They've worked with Middle Child to develop two drafts of their respective scripts, to be performed by actors in rehearsed readings on both days of the festival.

During this 30-minute relaxed event, you'll hear more about the inspiration behind their pieces, their writing process and what's next for them.
