How can theatre give voice to those who aren’t always heard? Acclaimed verbatim company LUNG share their process for creating politically charged, documentary-style work rooted in real communities and real stories.
From interviews to activism, you’ll learn how LUNG craft compelling narratives that challenge power, spark debate, and campaign for change.
Whether you’re interested in verbatim techniques or simply want to make work that resonates beyond the stage, this session will explore the ethics, impact and the power of amplifying voices that often go ignored.
Age recommendation 14+, with parental discretion. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Matt Woodhead is the Co-Director of LUNG, a campaigning theatre company, a Partner at The Lowry and a Resident Company at the National Theatre alongside Middle Child.
LUNG’s work spans high-quality verbatim theatre productions that tour from major venues to school halls and even the Houses of Parliament. Their mission-driven approach extends beyond the stage to developing educational resources and training tools for teachers, social workers and decision-makers.
