What role do actors play in bringing brand new scripts to life?
In this 90-minute session, actor Samuel Edward Cook (Manhunt, Glory Dazed, Peaky Blinders) leads an interactive and insightful event designed to equip actors and writers with the skills, mindset, and collaborative tools to work together effectively in the development of new writing.
From cold reads to last-minute script changes, from collaborative text work to the mindset needed when the play is still evolving - this session explores the unique demands of developing new work. You’ll learn how actors can contribute meaningfully in the room without overstepping, and develop a ‘Code of Collaboration’ to ensure writers, directors and actors can collectively thrive in the often-uncertain process of shaping something for the first time.
If you’ve ever wondered how to navigate the creative chaos of a rehearsal room where the script isn’t quite finished yet, this one’s for you.
Includes Q&A.
