Class Acts
Class Acts is a writers’ group for working class people in Hull and East Yorkshire who want to explore politics, class and community through theatre.
In January and February of this year, nine writers took part in a series of book club events, reading plays by working class playwrights, followed by workshops with playwrights Leo Butler, Florence Espeut-Nickless, Roy Williams, Daniel Ward and Kelly Jones.
The Class Acts writers have since each written two drafts of a scene, which will be performed, script-in-hand, by professional actors after a short rehearsal period.
Class Acts is made possible with funding from Barry Amiel & Norman Melburn Trust and was facilitated by Rabbey.
